Keeping your Ford Kuga Plug-in Hybrid charged is simple. And once it’s fully charged you can drive of up to 45 – 63 KmKuga Range WLTP. (WLTP Test Results) on electric power alone. That increases to 88 km when driving in urban locations with lots of stop-start traffic.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO CHARGE A KUGA PLUG-IN HYBRID?

The time it takes to charge your Kuga Plug-In Hybrid battery can vary depending on whether you’re at home or in public, and what type of connection you’re using.

A domestic charging cable is supplied with your Kuga as standard. This enables you to plug your Kuga into a domestic socket to recharge. Additionally, the Ford Connected Wallbox, EVBox+ Elvi Wallbox, is available for faster home charging. This is an optional accessory, available at additional cost.

The table below shows how long it takes to charge the Plug-In Hybrid battery from empty to full using a standard domestic cable, a Ford Connected Wallbox, and at a public charging station.

CHARGING YOUR KUGA PHEV AT HOME

Recharging your PHEV is easy.

A domestic charging cable is supplied with your Kuga. This has a traditional domestic plug on one end, and a plug that fits into the hybrid car on the other. Simply plug your Kuga into a wall socket to begin charging.

If you install a wallbox home charging point, then your charging speeds will be significantly faster. Your wallbox will also include a Type 2 charging cable to enable the improved charging speeds.

Whether you use a standard domestic socket or a wallbox, you can manage charging preference through the vehicle’s SYNC screen or with the FordPass app. This lets you program when you want your Kuga to charge so it’s always ready when you are.

CHARGING YOUR KUGA PHEV IN PUBLIC

If you’re away from home and need to top up the Plug-In Hybrid battery, public charging stations are a simple and convenient solution. To recharge your Kuga in public, you’ll need to use the optional public charging cable.  These cables use a Type 2 connector with both a male and female socket.

INSTALLING A WALLBOX HOME CHARGING POINT

If want to make recharging your Kuga Plug-In Hybrid at home as fast as possible, you’ll need to install a wallbox. Simply talk to your Ford Dealer, who will work with our installation partner, Bord Gáis. Once installed, you can fully recharge your Kuga from 0-100% in approx. 3.5 hours.Tooltip
