FORD'S COMMITMENT TO CHARGING IN EUROPE

Studies suggest that up to 95% of electric vehicle charging occurs at home or work. This is also likely to be the cheapest charging option, especially if your employer offers free charging at work (Source).

From charge cables for standard domestic sockets to connected wallboxes that enable you to manage your home charging experience, find out how Ford can support your home charging experience below. ​

1. Charging via a regular domestic socket – Your All-Electric or PHEV Ford vehicle comes equipped with home charging cables as standard. These enable you to charge your vehicle from a standard household socket e.g. if you are at a friend’s house. This is the slowest method of charging your vehicle, but you can still add up to xxkm of charge an hour.​
2. Specialist or ‘industrial/CEE’ sockets that you may have at home can charge your vehicle faster than a standard socket. An electrician will be required to install the required socket if you don’t have one. You can add up to xx km of charge per hour via this method*.​

3. Home Wallboxes offer the fastest possible home charging speeds, adding up to xxkm of charge per hour. The Ford Connected Wallbox also provides a number of charge management features accessible via your FordPass phone App. You may be entitled to a government incentive to support your wallbox installation. Ask your Ford dealer for more information.    ​

Paying for charging on the BlueOval^TM Charge Network is simple. Either tap your BlueOval^TM Charge Network Card (provided with your vehicle) or key fob and manage payment via the FordPass app. This saves you the time and effort of entering payment details at the charging station.

A growing number of stations also enable ‘Plug and Charge’. This lets you connect the charge cable to your vehicle, and payment details will be automatically detected.​

There are three main types of public charger, each offering different charging speeds and prices:​

1. ​High-power Charger(‘DC’, 150 kW+ or more) can deliver around 200+ miles of range per hour. Ford is a partner in the rapidly growing IONITY network, with over 15,000 high-power charging stations across 400 major European locations. These let you charge a Mustang Mach-E with up to 57 miles (93km) of range in just 10 minutes, while you grab a bite to eat.
2. Rapid charger(‘DC’, 50-100 kW) can deliver around 100+ miles of range per hour. For when you need more range, faster.​
3. ​Fast charger(‘AC’, 10-20 kW) can deliver around 20+ miles of range per hour. Great for topping up whilst shopping or during leisure activities.

What’s more, you can use the FordPass App or in-vehicle touchscreen to find nearby BlueOval^TM Charge Network stations or, for longer journeys, plan your charging stops in advance.​
