All-Electric Technology Overview

The power of zero

All-Electric vehicles run exclusively on battery power and deliver zero emissions while driving. Newer All-Electric vehicles can now deliver a range of more than 300 miles (while older models typically tend to have a range of 100 – 150 miles), so they can offer a radically different and exciting ownership experience.

Battery Charging

Charging an All-Electric vehicle can be as simple as plugging in a mobile phone. 
Wallbox chargers can be installed at your home and can fully charge the battery overnight. There is also the option to use a household socket to charge the car too but this takes longer than a wallbox charger. On the road, increasing numbers of more powerful, fast charging stations are being installed all the time. 
Moving forward, the charging stations planned in Ford’s joint IONITY network will be able to charge compatible vehicles to 80% in about 20 minutes.

A new driving experience

When it comes to driving experience, All-Electric vehicles are smooth and quick. Unlike traditional petrol or diesel engines, electric engines deliver torque almost instantaneously. Without the need to rev or change gears, acceleration is smooth, almost silent and surprisingly quick. And with smaller, simpler powertrains compared with traditional engines, they benefit from more interior and loading space too.
It’s not just the energy costs that are lower, running costs are too. As BEVs have fewer moving parts, the costs for servicing and maintenance are also lower. So, an All-Electric vehicle may cost more to buy initially, but most drivers should benefit in the long run.
