What is Ford Pro E-Switch Assist?
Ford Pro™ E-Switch Assist is a complimentary and easy-to-use tool which aids transitioning Ford fleet vehicles to an all-electric option. The tool analyses how much energy your vehicle needs to complete a typical working day, to assess whether an Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) vehicle can be replaced by an Electric Vehicle (EV). Read below to learn about the features and benefits of E-Switch Assist.

Benefits of E-Switch Assist
Select from the drop-down below to learn about the benefits of E-Switch Assist.
Boost EV Confidence
E-Switch Assist recommends which vehicles can be replaced with EVs by analysing vehicle data using an algorithm. This data-driven assessment builds more accurate results over time based on vehicle usage, so you can be confident in making the transition to EVs.
Free and Easy
Ford Pro E-Switch Assist is free and easy to use. Just log in or sign up to a Fleet Marketplace account and subscribe
to the product for your assessment. The tool does all the hard work of gathering the data, and simplifies the information needed to make a decision on transitioning to EVs.
Ford Pro Charging Team support
Once you have your evaluation, the next step is to start planning a charging strategy.
You will be supported by our Ford Pro Charging team, who offer a consultancy service to help choosing the right blend of charging solution.
We offer charging hardware and software solutions for the depot, your drivers’ homes, as well as access to over 500,000 public chargers throughout the Blue Oval™ Charge Network across Europe.
How does E-Switch Assist Work?
Using connected vehicle data, E- Switch Assist calculates the daily charging needs of a Ford EV if it were to replace a petrol or diesel vehicle in your fleet.
Note: You must have a FordPass™ connected modem with In-Vehicle Connectivity switched on, to have access to E-Switch Assist.
E-Switch Assist requires up to 48 hours of data to complete the assessment. If you attempt to view the results before this time frame, you will see a screen advising data is still being collected.
Vehicles are then assessed and divided into three categories:
- Suitable to switch to electric: will require up to 1 full charge daily (overnight
charge). - Switch with up to 1 daytime charge: may require 1-2 charges daily.
- May not be suitable to switch to electric: would require 2 or more daily charges.
For now, the tool supports the switch from an ICE Transit to E-Transit (Including
Standard and Enhanced Range E-Transit), and from Transit Custom to E-Transit
Custom. The tool will also be expanding to other Ford vehicles in the future.
