The new Focus has arrived with its innovative technology and its truly addictive driving experience.
Lane Departure Warning
Lane Departure Warning alerts you before you drift out of lane by vibrating your steering wheel. The level of vibration can be adjusted to three levels of sensitivity and a visual alert pops up on your driver information cluster. A welcome and timely prompt to correct your lane drift.
Lane Keeping Aid
If you're slow to react or don’t respond to the Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keeping Aid will apply gentle steering input to help make sure you stay in the correct lane. It's good to know the new Focus is looking out for you.
Driver Alert
Driver Alert is designed to constantly monitor your driving behaviour and detect any deviation caused by driver fatigue. A warning icon then appears in the display suggesting you take a break. Exactly the kind of reminder you need, especially if you're driving alone.
Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Forward Alert (FA)
With ACC you can automatically keep your chosen distance from the car in front. Should the car in front slow down and reduce the gap, your speed drops, too. And when traffic speeds up, you automatically return to cruising speed. Meanwhile, FA monitors your distance to the vehicle in front and if you drive too close, a warning noise and flashing light activate.
Blind Spot Information System
Using radar sensors, the Blind Spot Information System is designed to see things that you might not – vehicles hidden in your blind spots. If the sensor detects a car in your blind spot, it alerts you with an orange light in your door mirror to let you know something is coming. Door mirrors have never been so sophisticated and safety-conscious.
FordPower Starter Button
Staring the Focus is simple: all you need is to have your key in your car with you. Security-encrypted senders automatically ready the engine when they detect your unique key code, meaning you simply engage the clutch and push the FordPower Starter Button to start your car. Being security-encrypted, means no one else can drive off in your vehicle - even in the unlikely event that they manage to get through the alarm and locks.
Active Park Assist
The new Focus even has a system that will steer you into tight parking spaces – just 1.2 times the length of the car. Active Park Assist first uses sensors to check if there's enough room, then the system steers for you while you operate the accelerator, gears and brake. You're guided all the way with visual and audible signals, while the car practically parks itself.
Traffic Sign Recognition
You can now avoid the frustration of missing a traffic or speed sign again in the new Focus. Traffic Sign Recognition technology identifies different traffic signs and can display two different signs on the instrument panel. For instance, it can show the speed limit and no overtaking in the control cluster. It will even flash when you are over the speed limit. A useful prompt to mind how you drive.
Torque Vectoring Control
Torque Vectoring Control reacts to the road 100 times per second. The system then uses this information to repeatedly balance the amount of power between the two front wheels. Fitted as standard, this technology maximises grip and increases the dynamic capabilities of the new Focus, while helping you gracefully negotiate curves and undulations in the road.
Control Blade independent rear suspension
One of the reasons why the Focus has such renowned handling capabilities is the Control Blade rear suspension. Its retuned set-up of the multi-link suspension system delivers an improved ride, more responsiveness and ultra-precise feedback from the road, plus you'll enjoy a slightly quieter ride too. Poised, accomplished handling that every driver will find addictive.
Auto High Beam
This clever night driving-aid, which works with automatic headlights switched on, temporarily dips your headlights when it detects oncoming traffic or another vehicle up ahead. Then it automatically returns them to high beam. A bright idea that makes driving more safe and relaxed.
Ford kinetic Design
The dynamic and elegant styling captures our 'energy in motion' philosophy.
Active City Stop
Designed to help reduce the likelihood or consequences of your car colliding with the vehicle in front in slow-moving traffic by applying the brakes if it is detected that a collision is likely.
Refined fit and finish
The whole design is more sculptural, dynamic and expressive. From the moment you step inside, the cabin is appealing and distinctive, while colours, materials and finishes are co-ordinated to suit every taste. With such reassuring quality throughout there's an alluring sense feeling at home and being at one with the car.
Streamlined exterior
The new Focus takes Ford kinetic Design to an exciting new level. Its low profile makes it appear more sleek and purposeful from the new bonnet design to the wrap-around tail lamps - this is a car with real presence. The sleek, aerodynamic shape allows it to cut through the air with minimum resistance – improving performance and maximising fuel efficiency.
A new, class-leading petrol engine that saves you 20% on fuel
The new 1.0 litre EcoBoost is available with 100PS and delivers the power you’d expect from a conventional 1.6 engine, but uses up to 20% less fuel. That means a considerable saving at the petrol pump. Its diesel-like fuel consumption is thanks to a fundamental re-engineering, resulting in a faster engine warm-up and reduced friction, among other benefits.
Active Grille Shutter
This is an intelligent system that adjusts the angle of the Grille Shutters to provide optimum cooling and aerodynamics. This improvement in aerodynamics can increase fuel economy by up to 0.8% on the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC). Over time, it makes a big difference.

Hill Start Assist
This innovation helps prevent you from rolling backwards when making a hill start. After releasing the brake when stationary, the technology keeps the wheels steady, increasing control when pulling away on a hill, or stopping and starting on slippery surfaces.
Auto High Beam
This clever night driving-aid, which works with automatic headlights switched on, temporarily dips your headlights when it detects oncoming traffic or another vehicle up ahead. Then it automatically returns them to high beam. A bright idea that makes driving more safe and relaxed.
Speed Limiter
This new system integrates with cruise control to keep you within your pre-determined speed limit. Setting your top speed is easy with the steering wheel-mounted control at your fingertips, so you can relax about inadvertently going too fast and keep your eyes on the road, not the speedometer. When you need to call on the lively performance of the new Focus, it responds with just a press of the accelerator, which overrides the system.
Auto-dimming rear-view mirror
When driving at night, you could do without being blinded by the lights of the vehicles behind. The innovative auto-dimming rear-view mirror automatically detects headlight glare and switches to a dimmed setting. This helps makes keeping an eye on vehicles behind less distracting and helps you arrive home feeling less tired.
Ford Easy-Fuel
With Ford Easy-Fuel, it’s almost impossible to put the wrong fuel in your car, simply because the wrong nozzle just won’t fit. And because it’s a capless refuelling system, it means you’ll never have to handle dirty fuel caps again.
Ford DAB audio system
Enjoy crystal-clear sound as you drive. The DAB digital audio system also provides information on the current track playing and some systems even scroll the latest news headlines. Bluetooth® with Voice Control* and USB connectivity are two further features that come as standard when you upgrade to a Sony Audio System.

Ford PowerShift automatic transmission
You can opt for Ford PowerShift – a six-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox that pre-selects the next gear for you. This technology means you experience no loss of power when changing gear and it makes driving an automatic smoother and more fun. In addition, seamless gear changes save fuel and lower CO2 emissions compared to a conventional automatic. Plus, there's little increase in fuel consumption compared to a manual gearbox, so you can choose an automatic without any compromise.
Active City Stop
Designed to help reduce the likelihood or consequences of your car colliding with the vehicle in front in slow-moving traffic by applying the brakes if it is detected that a collision is likely.
Auto-Start-Stop
Ford Auto-Start-Stop automatically switches off the engine when the vehicle is stationary, for example when you're at traffic lights or idling in a queue. This clever technology also looks after your comfort and entertainment by keeping systems such as the air conditioning running while the engine is off. Then it restarts the engine the moment you're ready to move. Fitted as standard on some models, it's ideal if most of your driving takes place in town and can reduce your fuel consumption by 10% (urban cycle). A saving that should certainly give you pause for thought.
Eco Mode
Continually assesses the effect of your driving behaviour on fuel consumption - including speed, gear shifting and anticipation levels, plus your ratio of short trips. Smart software then provides useful advice on achieving better fuel economy according to your driving style.
TDCi engine
Both the frugal 1.6 litre TDCi engines (available in 95 PS or 115 PS variants) and the powerful 2.0 litre TDCi (in 115 PS) diesel engine have seen a series of performance improvements. For example, the higher pressure, multiple injection process and more efficient fuel pump both significantly increase energy efficiency. The result? Increased power, torque and fuel economy, along with lower CO2 emissions. Both 1.6TDCi engines fall into VRT Tax Band A. The 2.0 litre TDCi in 115 PS falls into VRT Tax Band B which is great news for a vehicle with an automatic transmission.
