A range of engines
Transit Connect is powered by a range of refined and dependable diesel engines. These all deliver impressive acceleration and fuel-efficiency, while ensuring strong load and high towing capacity. A high number of key engineering changes also mean a quieter, more comfortable ride for both driver and passengers. The range comprises:
 
 
• 1.8-litre Duratorq TDCi common rail turbo diesel 75 PS/175 Nm
• 1.8-litre Duratorq TDCi common rail turbo diesel 90 PS/220 Nm
• 1.8-litre Duratorq TDCi common rail turbo diesel 110 PS/280 Nm
Diesel particulate filter
Using state-of-the-art low emission technology, we have developed a coated Diesel Particulate Filter (cPDF) to reduce soot particles which is available as an option on the 90 PS and 110 PS engines, to reduce soot particles which is standard on all Transit Connect engines.
Electronic Stability Programme (ESP)
Handling is further enhanced on Transit Connect with Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) as standard. This automatically adjusts power and braking keeping the vehicle on the right track. Vehicles with ESP also have Hill Launch Assist (HLA) as standard - making it easier to pull away on a slope as there’s no need to use the handbrake. 
Anti-lock braking system (ABS)
ABS ensures the wheels won’t lock when you brake. This helps prevent skidding and loss of directional control if you have to brake when cornering, or if you need to make an emergency stop.

Electronic brake-force distribution (EBD)
EBD balances the braking force independently across all four wheels. This gives you more stable braking and can result in shorter stopping distances.
Traction Assist (TA)
TA works with your engine and transmission to help prevent rear wheel spin and, under more extreme conditions, reduces it significantly.
