Blind Spot Information System
Upgraded technology
In the all-new Ford C-MAX and Grand C-MAX, you're enveloped by smart technology – an impressive array generally only found in luxury vehicles. These technologies could help give you a safer outlook and help make manoeuvring more effective or just make this ultra-advanced vehicle more fun to drive. Now, that really is smart.
Auto High Beam and Rain-sensing wipers
The system automatically switches the headlights from high beam to low beam as soon as the system detects oncoming traffic or a pre-defined lighting level. Conversely, it detects the road is clear before automatically switching back to high beam.

With six levels of sensitivity, autowipers on the C-MAX line-up spring into action at the first drop of rain, increasing in speed to deal with whatever the weather may throw at you. It's more convenient and can help your concentration level in really challenging driving conditions. (Standard on Titanium)
Bluetooth® with Voice Control
Wire-free and handsfree, Bluetooth®* with Voice Control has been upgraded to improve the connection between a mobile phone and the vehicle. The voice activated control system allows drivers to access major vehicle functions using voice commands while driving – for example changing radio stations or CD tracks. The system also allows you to make and receive calls from a Bluetooth®-compatible mobile phone and even access your phone book directly.

Bluetooth® Audio Streaming takes connectivity to a new level by giving you access to music on your phone, which can be played wirelessly through the vehicle audio system. (Standard)

*The Bluetooth® word mark and logos are allowed and owned by the Bluetooth SIG, Inc. and any use of such marks by Ford Motor Company Limited and its associated companies is under licence. Other trademarks and trade names are those of their respective owners.
MP3 and USB connector
The Bluetooth® with Voice Control system also includes a USB port, which allows devices without Bluetooth® functionality to be connected to the vehicle. This means MP3 music files can be played and controlled through the audio system from a memory stick or an MP3 player such as an iPod®. (Standard)
Audio System and Instrument Control Panel
A fully integrated sat NAV system is available for the new C-MAX and Grand C-MAX. Being a integrated system, it responds to real-time road speed and the latest traffic conditions to deliver more accurate estimated arrival times and trip information. (Option as part of Sony MAV Pack)

The premium Sony system features:
5" high resolution colour multi-function display with
Sony ICP finished in piano black with large buttons and rotary control
Control buttons are lit up in white when the vehicle's lights are on
 Nine audio speakers
 DAB available
Rear-view camera
No matter how much you crane your neck to check behind you before manoeuvring, it's tricky to spot every obstacle and judge distance accurately. The rear-view camera is a technological solution to both problems. Simply select reverse and a rearward view automatically displays in the navigation screen. You can see how close you are to objects behind and graphics superimposed on the image also indicate the vehicle's direction of travel. (Option, as part of Sony NAV Pack, on ACTIV and Titanium series)
Active Park Assist
Helps you park in spaces just 1.2 times the length of the car. After confirming the space is large enough, the system operates the steering while you control the pedals. Audio and visual guides help you manoeuvre. (Option).
Electronic Stability Programme (ESP)
The state-of-the-art ESP is at the heart of many of the active safety features. It monitors the vehicle’s progress and is always ready to apply effective – and often imperceptible – intervention when required. While the system cannot be overridden, a new reduced assistance mode helps the vehicle in slippery traction situations such as getting the vehicle out of deep snow. ESP incorporates many of the following active safety features:
Emergency Brake Light
Switches on the hazard warning lights automatically during an emergency braking manoeuvre, to warn following cars.
Electronic Brake Pre-fill
When the vehicle recognises a potential emergency stopping situation, the ESP unit pre-charges the brake system, closing the gap between brake pads and discs to help reduce stopping distance.
Emergency Brake Assist
Helps achieve the best possible braking during an emergency situation by increasing the brake pressure if the system senses that the driver has applied insufficient pressure.
Engine Traction Control System
Eliminates excessive wheel spin to guarantee optimal traction, performance and stability. By reducing engine torque, you're able to accelerate and pull away with the greatest efficiency.
Torque Vectoring Control
Improves stability in tight corners by applying brake force to the inside wheel and transferring power to the outer wheel. Cornering is sure-footed thanks to the increased traction and reduced understeer.
Adjustable Speed Limiter
Available as part of cruise control, this system lets you set your top speed between 30 and 180 km/h. The engine management system ensures you keep within your set limit, helping you concentrate on the road ahead rather than the speedometer. (Option on ACTIV, Standard on Titanium)
Hill Start Assist
Standard on Titanium only, this innovation prevents you from rolling backwards when making a hill start. After releasing the brake when stationary, the technology keeps the wheels braked and assists the driver to move away safely.
Blind Spot Information System
This high-tech visual aid is available to help make journeys more relaxing, especially on motorways. As another vehicle enters your blind spot, the system alerts you by illuminating a warning light in each door mirror. (Option, as part of the Easy Drive Pack)
Ford Auto Start-Stop technology
Automatically shuts down the engine when the vehicle is idle and re-starts when the driver moves off resulting in an improvement in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.
Intelligent Protection System (IPS)
The new Ford C-MAX and Grand C-MAX have an enhanced Ford Intelligent Protection System (IPS) – the key to class-leading safety performance. You'll feel safer in the knowledge that you're shielded by an optimised ultra-strong body structure that is rigid, robust and lightweight. Plus, both models are designed to absorb energy more effectively in the event of a collision while working alongside all the vehicle’s restraint technologies.
Rear seatbelt minder
The Grand C-MAX features a special new rear seatbelt minder system, which alerts the driver if any passengers in the second or third row seats do not have their seat belts correctly fastened. This feature is particularly valuable if young children are travelling in the car. The driver receives a visual warning in the instrument cluster display along with an audible chime if a seat belt is released while on the move.
To help promote peace of mind for the driver, visual and audible alerts indicate when any seat belt is fastened or unfastened. This feature is particularly helpful if young children are travelling in the car. (Grand C-MAX only)
Power child locks
A simple control switch enables you to safely secure your precious backseat passengers. You can electronically activate or release the rear-door child locks far more conveniently than conventional mechanical child locks. The switch in the driver’s door panel also controls the rear power-window deactivation function. Importantly, the locks are automatically disengaged in the event of a collision. (Power Child Locks not standard on C-MAX ACTIV)
Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) with Traction Assist (TA)
The state-of-the-art ESP is at the heart of many of the active safety features. It monitors the vehicle’s progress and is always ready to apply effective – and often imperceptible – intervention when required. While the system cannot be overridden, a new reduced assistance mode helps the vehicle in slippery traction situations such as getting the vehicle out of deep snow. ESP also incorporates TA to eliminate excessive wheel spin and guarantee optimal traction, performance and stability.
Deflation Detection System (DDS)
DDS uses individual wheel sensors to continually check the tyre pressure, providing accurate data and alerting you before any loss of pressure becomes an issue. When used in conjunction with runflat tyres, it eliminates the need to carry a spare tyre.
Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS)
When you have to leave your C-MAX anywhere, you want to know it can fend for itself. That’s exactly why we have incorporated so many security features:
  • Locks are all high-security, anti-burst and shielded with strengthened mountings
  • Advanced Ford PATS immobiliser disables the engine until your uniquely-coded key is put into the ignition
  • Perimeter alarm with interior volume sensing (Optional)
  • Key fob and manual-key operated central locking
  • Global closing feature for power windows (Global Open/Close not standard on C-MAX ACTIV)
ISOFIX seating
Three-point safety belts are fitted to all rear seats in both the C-MAX and Grand C-MAX, while the outer pair of second row seats has provision for ISOFIX child seats in both models.
Class-leading CO2 emissions
The new line-up features the latest engine technologies to deliver an impressive combination of responsive performance with reduced fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. Take advantage of the impressive fuel economy without compromising on performance or driving enjoyment:

  • C-MAX with 1.6 TDCi 95PS engine with only 119 g/km CO2 emissions or Band A
  • Grand C-MAX with 1.6 TDCi 95PS engine has just 129 g/km CO2 emissions or Band B
  • C-MAX 1.6TDCi 95PS engines with Auto Start-Stop with only 114g/km CO2 emissions or Band A
  • Grand C-MAX 1.6TDCi 95PS engines with Auto Start Stop with only 124g/km CO2 emissions or Band B
TÜV allergy
If you, or a member of your family suffer from allergies, you'll be relieved to know that the pollen filter and the materials we use inside the C-MAX meet the requirements of the 'TUV TOXPROOF Criteria Catalogue for Vehicle Interiors' by the TUV Produkt and Umwelt GmbH to minimise the risk of allergic reactions.

If doors and windows are closed , the pollen filter of the HVAC system protects the passengers from high concentrations of particles, including allergens entering the car from the outside.
