Ford Duratorq diesel technology
Advanced engineering combines performance with outstanding fuel efficiency and low CO2 emissions. The 1.6TDCi 95PS Duratorq now delivers more power with even more refinement giving impressive fuel efficiency of 5.4 litres/100 km (urban cycle) and CO2 emissions of just 119 g/km* or VRT Band A (in the manual transmission C-MAX).
Available from July 2011 Auto Start-Stop reduces CO2 emissions even further. When your vehicle is idling at a standstill, the engine automatically shuts down to save fuel consumption. When you want to drive off, the engine immediately restarts. Available on the 1.6TDCi 95PS engine, it reduces CO2 emissions from 119g/km to 114g/km or VRT Band A on C-MAX and on Grand C-MAX from 129g/km to 124g/km or VRT Band B.

Power operated tailgate
You can open the tailgate from a button on the centre console, tailgate handle or key fob – great when you're hands are full. The intelligent design lets you programme the opening angle to avoid obstacles, such as the garage roof. For protection, two anti-pinch sensors will detect any obstruction when closing and then safely release. (Option, as part of the Convenience Pack)

Power child locks
This innovative feature on the Grand C-MAX's rear sliding doors can improve safety for the family. A simple control switch on the driver’s door lets you secure your precious backseat passengers and prevent doors opening from the inside. (Power Child Locks not standard on C-MAX ACTIV)
Adjustable Speed Limiter
Available as part of cruise control, this system lets you set your top speed between 30 and 180 km/h. The engine management system ensures you keep within your set limit, helping you concentrate on the road ahead rather than the speedometer. (Option on ACTIV, Standard on Titanium)
Sony audio system ICP
Finished in Piano Black, the Sony audio system has nine speakers and a 265-watt amplifier to give you the ultimate in-car audio experience that’s rich and detailed even at low volume. Connectivity is covered for USB, MP3 players and your iPod®. (Option, as part of the Sony NAV Pack).

Passive safety systems
With the latest in driver and occupant protection technologies featuring in the C-MAX and Grand C-MAX, the key element in our passive safety package is the Intelligent Protection System (IPS). This includes the following advanced systems, ready to spring into action in a fraction of a second:
- Full-size driver (60 litre) and passenger (110 litre) airbags featuring the latest single stage inflator technology
- High power seat belt pre-tensioners and belt load limiting for front-seat seat belts
- Standard inflatable side curtains for front and second row seat occupants and thorax-protecting side airbags for front occupants
- Collapsible steering column that moves away from the driver in the event of a collision and is optimised for energy absorption and leg protection
- Pedal Intrusion Prevention System (PIPS) where safety pedals collapse away from the driver to prevent injury in case of impact
- Passive neck injury protection system on front seats to help the driver and front passenger avoid whiplash
- Three-point seat belts in all positions with height-adjustable mounts on front seat belts
- Seat belt reminders for driver and front passenger, and (7-seat Grand C-MAX only) for second and third row seats
- ISOFIX child seat attachment anchors on outboard seats second row
- Approval for universal ISOFIX child seats
- Optional passenger airbag deactivation kit (Dealer fitted)

*Note: a child seat should never be placed in the front passenger seat when the Ford vehicle is equipped with an operational front passenger’s airbag. The safest place for children is properly restrained on the second row seats.
Duratorq TDCi diesel engines evolved
Engineered to deliver refined performance and low cost of ownership, you can choose from the next generation of Ford Duratorq TDCi diesel engines. Impressive fuel economy figures and lower CO2 emissions combined with responsiveness set these engines apart.
In addition, the 2.0 TDCi 115 PS Duratorq engine is available with Ford PowerShift six-speed dual-clutch transmission, improving fuel efficiency by up to 10% compared to a conventional automatic. This impressive unit delivers fuel economy (urban cycle) of 7.1L/100 km and CO2 emissions of just 149 or Band C - g/km in the C-MAX (154 g/km or Band C in the Grand C-MAX*).

If you, or a member of your family suffer from allergies, you'll be relieved to know that the pollen filter and the materials we use inside the C-MAX meet the requirements of the 'TUV TOXPROOF Criteria Catalogue for Vehicle Interiors' by the TUV Produkt and Umwelt GmbH to minimise the risk of allergic reactions.
