Focus ST chassis
Pure performance on demand
The Focus ST is renowned for its power, agility and sheer driving excitement. And this latest model takes the experience to new levels. A new EcoBoost engine delivers extraordinary power, exceptional fuel efficiency of 7.2l/100km and CO2 emissions of just 169g/km, while an array of technologies improve steering, grip, handling and braking. Find out more about the car’s performance technologies below.
Sharper handling with unique suspension tuning
The Focus ST’s front and rear suspensions have both been stiffened, delivering outstanding agility and improved grip around corners. The handling feels ultra-sharp and precise, but without compromising comfort. All in all, you’ll enjoy a fun, exciting drive, while remaining in absolute control of the car.

Maximum grip around corners
Enhanced Torque Vectoring Control (eTVC) offers the control and agility of a state-of-the-art Torque Vectoring Control system and more. This advanced technology reacts to the road surface 100 times per second. It repeatedly balances the amount of power and braking delivered to each of the two front wheels to maximise grip and sharpen handling, powering you around corners and over undulations in the road. And, while standard Torque Vectoring Control operates when it senses wheel slip, the Focus ST measures changes in momentum and angle, and activates the system before wheel slip takes place. Enhanced TVC can also brake the back wheels for even greater agility.
Keeping you in control through corners
When you’re driving out of a bend at full throttle, Torque Steer Compensation cancels out any steering wheel pull at high speed, or steering kickback caused by uneven road surfaces. The result? You’re always in full command of the car.

New larger brakes to reduce stopping distances
At 320mm, the new Focus ST’s front brake discs are considerably larger than the previous model’s and minimise brake fade. They’re also specially tuned for a more responsive feel. The larger, stiffer front brake callipers are available in red for a sporty look (optional). The rear disc brakes also measure a sizeable 271mm.

Outstanding power from an engine built for racing
A lightweight, aluminium 2-litre EcoBoost engine powers the Focus ST to 100kph in an exhilarating 6.5 seconds. The engine uses direct injection and turbo-charging to produce outstanding power and torque of 250PS and 360Nm respectively, with incredible efficiency. The engine is ultra-responsive, so you can experience its power instantaneously, enjoy rapid acceleration through the gears, and gain impressive top end power: you can use maximum torque from just 1,750 rpm.
Unique grille shutter for improved aerodynamics
With the Active Grille Shutter system, the front grille vent stays open to cool the engine when you’re driving slowly, but automatically closes when you pick up speed. The closed position improves aerodynamics, which also increases fuel economy by up to 0.8% on the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC).
