Ford Fiesta Airbags to shield you from all angles
Advanced technology for increased safety
The new Ford Fiesta offers outstanding levels of safety: a fact that’s been recognised by Europe’s leading independent vehicle safety organisation, Euro NCAP. Not only has Fiesta been awarded the maximum five-star rating overall, the car has also been granted Advanced rewards for three of it’s advanced technologies, Active Park Assist, Ford MyKey and Ford SYNC with Emergency Assistance.
Vehicle Safety
A Euro NCAP Advanced reward, for keeping you safe
Ford MyKey has received a Euro NCAP Advanced reward: the highest given by Europe’s leading independent safety organisation. The reward recognises only the most advanced avoidance, crash and post-crash technologies available in a car. And it’s a measure of Ford’s commitment to safety that across our range, we’ve now received a total of seven Euro NCAP Advanced rewards, all for innovations designed to protect you.
Ford SYNC with Emergency Assistance
An important and potentially life-saving part of Ford SYNC is Emergency Assistance. In the unlikely event of an accident, where the airbag is deployed or the fuel-pump deactivated, the technology can automatically make a direct call to the Emergency Services for you. You can choose to stop the call, or talk to the operator directly if you need to. Crucially, the system will supply vital information, such as your GPS coordinates on your behalf. (Option)
To avoid low speed collisions, the Fiesta brakes for you
Accidents in stop-start, slow moving traffic happen all-too frequently. And Active City Stop is an advanced technology designed to help you avoid them. At speeds of under 30kph, the system detects if the car in front has unexpectedly stopped, and automatically applies the brakes for you. As proof of its innovation, Active City Stop has been granted a Euro NCAP Advanced reward for safety. (Option)
ESC helps you stay in control, whatever the conditions
Electronic Stability Control (ESC) constantly monitors your car’s progress, senses if you veer off course or start to skid and automatically corrects your road position. The system is designed to help you maintain control of the car and can also help reduce stopping distances in an emergency. (Standard)
Airbags to shield you from all angles
In addition to the driver and passenger front airbags, there are side airbags with thorax protection and curtain airbags with head protection. There’s even an airbag to protect the driver’s knees.
If you want your passenger airbag switched off, for example if a baby or toddler is travelling in a rear-facing seat, just flick a switch to deactivate it. To provide you with a useful reminder, this ‘off’ status is shown by a light in the instrument cluster. (Standard)
An early warning if a tyre is going flat
If any of your tyres starts to lose pressure during your journey, the Deflation Detection System warns you there’s a puncture immediately by lighting up an icon on the instrument panel. (Option)
Coordinated safety systems activate in a split-second
The Fiesta’s advanced Intelligent Protection System (IPS) coordinates a series of safety features, giving you and your passengers maximum protection. The Fiesta also has a rigid bodyshell that absorbs impact and advanced seat and seat belt technology, to reduce the chance of injury in the event of an accident. (Standard)
Advanced systems for more controlled braking
Anti-lock braking system (ABS) and electronic brake-force distribution (EBD) ensure that your braking is more controlled. Emergency Brake Assist (EBA) also helps the Fiesta brake more effectively in an emergency situation. It does this by sensing how much pressure you’ve applied to the brake yourself and automatically increasing it, if necessary. (Standard)
A rear-view mirror that stops you being dazzled
Night driving is easier when the lights of vehicles behind aren’t dazzling you. That’s why the Fiesta’s auto-dimming rear-view mirror automatically detects headlight glare and switches to a dimmed setting. (Option Pack)
Brighter headlights for safer night driving
Halogen Projector Headlights produce brighter and more intense light, so you can see (and be seen) more clearly and drive more safely. (standard)

*Ford Emergency Assistance operates in over 30 European countries. This feature works when paired with a compatible connected mobile phone that is with you when an airbag is deployed (excludes knee airbags) or a sensor that registers a crash deactivates the fuel pump. Text function and Emergency Assistance not
