Engines and performance
Complementing Fiesta’s powerful athletic body, there’s a range of lively, fuel-efficient engines that mean you can choose your perfect balance of economy, power and low emissions.
Electric Power-Assisted Steering (EPAS)
To go with the lightness of touch in design, EPAS offers lighter steering when parking or manoeuvring at slow speeds. This advanced system also gives you firmer steering for more control at higher speeds. Unlike conventional power-assisted steering that operates continuously and consumes energy and fuel, our EPAS only operates when it is required, enhancing fuel economy and making the car lighter on your pocket, too.
Park Assist (optional)
Optional rear sensors make parking and manoeuvring both safer and easier. An audible warning helps you judge the distance between your car and any obstacle behind you. So when you find a space you can demonstrate to any spectators how to park quickly and confidently.
Stall prevention
If you’re constantly driving in stop-start traffic, the anti-stall technology will be invaluable. The technology anticipates when you’re going to pull away and increases the amount of power available. Considering the glances you are likely to attract in Fiesta, this is a practical feature that also prevents any potentially embarrassing moments in heavy traffic.
Cruise control (optional)
Using optional steering wheel-mounted toggles, you can select your desired speed and then increase or decrease it using these manual controls. This feature promises you a more relaxing journey, particularly when faced with a long drive.
Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) (standard)
This clever system has sensors that monitor the road wheels and the steering wheel. If there is any sudden change in the steering or braking, ESP automatically applies the necessary power and braking adjustments to individual wheels. All of which helps reduce stopping distances in an emergency.
Anti-lock braking system (ABS)
Fitted as standard on all models, ABS stops the brakes from locking the wheels. This helps prevent skidding if you have to brake when cornering or need to make an emergency stop. For further stability when braking, this system comes with electronic brake-force distribution (EBD).
Fiesta
Emergency Brake Assist (EBA)
EBA ensures full braking force is available whenever necessary, helping reduce stopping distances in an emergency. And, should you need to brake heavily, the hazard warning lights automatically come on to alert other drivers.
