7 September 2010 – This week two Fiesta models completed the Irish leg of a world tour that will see the Ford supermini cover four continents and more than 15,000 road miles finishing up at the Sydney Motor Show in late October.

3 September 2010 – ProAdjust, one of Ireland’s leading insurance loss adjusters, has just taken delivery of eight Ford Kuga Commercial vehicles from Fort Motors for use by some of the company’s nationwide team of adjusters.

13 August 2010 – The Ford Transit, consistently Ireland’s best selling van, turns 45 this month. The first Transit went into production on August 9, 1965 and since then 6 million Transits have been sold across Europe.

6 August 2010 – Ford Ireland has announced details of a new scrappage incentive programme for Ireland’s best-selling car, the Ford Focus.

9 July 2010 – The Ford Fiesta now comes with Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) as standard, making it the first volume-selling “supermini” on the Irish market to have this life-saving safety aid as standard.

1 July 2010 – The car market rebounded strongly in the first half of 2010, with sales up 45%, according to statistics from the Society for the Irish Motor Industry (SIMI). Ford, the best-selling car brand over the period, is predicting a full-year industry of almost 85,000 cars this year, an increase of 27,540 on last year.

25 June 2010 – Ford of Europe will debut its stylish and technologically advanced new Mondeo at the 2010 Moscow International Automobile Salon on August 25.

15 June 2010 – Mary Cummins from Kilmessan in Co. Meath, this week, entered the record books when she “scrapped” her 30 year old Fiesta in favour of a new model at Navan Ford Centre, Navan, Co. Meath.

1 June 2010 – As car sales jumped by 70% last month on the same period last year, Ford maintained its position as the country’s best-selling car brand, according to statistics released by the Society for the Irish Motor Industry (SIMI).

31 May 2010 – Caredoc, the Carlow-based out-of-hours GP Co-operative, has upgraded its vehicle fleet with four new Ford Kugas supplied by Dooley Motors of Carlow. The new Kugas will replace Caredoc’s previous fleet of Ford Focus estate vehicles.

28 May 2010 – Ford is the official Vehicle provider of the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest, which takes place in Olso, Norway, from May 25 - 29. With a fleet of 40 vehicles Ford is the exclusive transportation provider for the organising team, artists and celebrities.

25 May 2010 – Ford Ireland has announced the line up and prices for the new S-MAX and Galaxy models which go on sale here this week.

17 May 2010 – At the annual general meeting of the Society of the Irish Motor Industry - held this week in Dublin - Eddie Murphy, Chairman and Managing Director of Ford Ireland, was appointed as President of the Society.

11 May 2010 – Figures released by the Society of the Irish Motor Industry (SIMI) show that Ford has taken the lion’s share of car sales under the government scrappage scheme which was launched in January 2010.

30 April 2010 – To coincide with World Asthma Day which falls on May 4 this year, Ford is highlighting the “allergy-friendly” credentials of its award-winning range of cars. In 2004, the Ford C-MAX was awarded with an official ‘allergy-tested’ seal – the first Ford model to gain that accolade.

29 April 2010 – Ford Ireland has announced exciting new additions to its line-up of Ka models this summer, all of which are eligible for the scrappage scheme. From May, the range will offer more choice for buyers looking to avail of the Government incentive.

20 April 2010 – The stylish, latest generation Ford Fiesta was officially Europe's best-selling car in March and for the first quarter 2010, according to the latest figures from the world's leading provider of automotive data and intelligence, JATO Dynamics.

April 1 2010 – Figures issued by the Society of the Irish Motor Industry (SIMI) today show that car sales in Ireland rebounded by 78 percent during the month of March. Sales for the month were 13,813 vehicles, while the figure for March 2009 was 7,762 vehicles. Year to date figures show a sales increase of 31 percent over the first quarter in 2009.

March 19 2010 – Figures for the 2010 Irish car market show Ford is the brand leading the significant shift to greener, lower-CO2 producing vehicles. Nearly four out of every 10 Ford cars sold (39 percent) so far this year were models that fall into the lowest CO2 tax band A (120g/km or less). This statistic compares with a full year 2009 total of 15 percent of Ford car sales that were tax band A-rated.

March 12 2010 – Ford Motor Company is confirming that its global electric vehicles plan is extending to Europe with five full electric or hybrid vehicles across its C, CD and light commercial vehicle ranges coming for European customers by 2013.

1 March 2010 – The rise in new car sales accelerated last month, as registrations grew by 38% over February 2009. The jump in sales of vans was even more pronounced, at 72%. According to the Society of the Irish Motor Industry (SIMI) a total of 12,325 cars were registered last month, up from 8,950 in the same period last year. Ford is the best-selling car brand so far this year, with 13.5% of the market.
